Boutique charm in a great location
by Patricia Jacubec -

I stayed in room 14, on the top floor, for one night in mid-September.  The overall atmosphere of the hotel is one of warm, personal service.  The check-in is done sitting down at a desk with the manger rather than at a stand-up desk—creating a more intimate environment from the start.  The staff is uniformly gracious, attentive, and tries hard to answer all questions and requests.  I loved my hotel room, which looked out across rooftops, with the top of the Pantheon in the distance.  Facing away from the street, the room was exceptionally quiet.  It was small, but an average size for this type of hotel in Paris.  As it was on the top floor, parts of the ceiling and walls were slanted and a taller person (I’m 5”4”) might have found it difficult to maneuver in the room.  The layout was efficient, with a small desk, two chairs, 2 nightstands , a comfortable bed, and reading lights.  The bath was small but efficiently laid out, too, with Occitane toiletries.  Sitting rooms are on the ground floor and are a perfect setting for relaxing with tea after a busy day.  There is a single internet-capable public computer tucked away in a nook on the ground floor and the hotel has wi-fi connectivity.  The only criticism I would have is that the hotel is a bit dark with limited natural light.  Nothing that can be done about that, really, and it’s a small criticism in light of all the other wonderful things about the Odeon.  I can’t wait to return.
